Hmmmmm,
Just recieved my Z8 back from repair and said to have software replaced.

ESPOO_U_46.03.1AG_0000024b
espoo_uiq_31_200648_20070619
Moto_build: 2238C1_B

Flex Version
UCSU0MIVFUKR2S618_IG0

Just wondering...having a look at the report sheet and it just says..

Motorola  Z8Live
VODRR (single) Black
S/W Version  46.03. 1AG

Maybe 46.03. 1AG is Vodafone software?

fubar3803  had
46.03.44G....what was his provider?

Neil   had
46.03.63G....what was his provider?

Was st3ph3n
46.03. 1AG ...also on Vodafone?

Just trying to workout if there is newer firmwares out there or if these are just different versions for different providers/countries.

A footnote....I have tried to get this to crash/freeze, but so far it has not done so.  It froze for a while in Swiss Manager but I came out and the phone cleared itself and went back to normal...
Also it starts/opens quicker than before...about 1.5 secs from black screen to turn on keypad.  Used to be 3 secs at least every time before.
Maybe flex version is different?Huh
 Undecided

The number you need to look at for firmware versions is the Moto_build number. So your firmware is 2238C1_B.

This number is made up of the base build number, any fixes applied and a network code at the end.

My Z8 has build: 2267C3_I. What does everyone else have?

Well according to the run of numbers I must have very old firmware!!!

Me..2238C1

Dirg..2249C2

Stuart..2267C3

Strange because mine has just come back from Moto, after all my troubles, with a firmware upgrade.  And I must admit since it came back I have had absolutely no problems at all...not one freeze or crash.

I wonder how the numbers stack up against changes / improvements in the firmware?

My new z8 finally arrived.
For the moment i haven't done anything, just charging the battery.
The new one has exactly the same version of software installed. Run it in english and not going to install anything until i test it a while.

My motobuild still is 2249C2_F

I also have 2249C2_C, and it's an o2 branded phone.

firmware version 46.03.44G_000002d2 build 2249C2_c  dated 20070709 I guess.

I want that firmware update Stuart has! Is the only way to get it sending it to Moto for updates, or is the update finally available for download somewhere? Or is Stuart well-connected?? Wink

The firmware version I listed is available on phones purchased from Expansys (and probably other SIM free retailers). It has not been released as a user upgrade or even as a manufacturer upgrade.

There IS another, even newer firmware being developed; however I do not know any official dates as to when this might be made available.

2312 is the latest build which has been seen in public, but we don't know yet which version Motorola are making available.
