Is this realy a firmware upgrade or is at a software upgrade?
Do you have an approximately date or month for when this will be avaliable for everyone to try out.

It's a firmware upgrade. Firmware is usually described as embedded software, which is exactly what this is.

There's NO official date on a public release

Lucky Motosmartphone members

This is a genuine Motorola firmware upgrade that has been beta tested and has now been made available to privileged Motosmartphone members.

So get in there while you can.

So this is realy a finale beta test of what will be avaliable for everyone in "short" time?

Guess its no point for me in Norway to apply for a "testpilot" for the new firmware you are advertising on the webpage? Since we have to send the phone in for service...

I have no problem with which country people are in. I don't think the service centre will mind either. However, as pointed out, you DO have to send the phone to the UK for the upgrade to be done, so it may take some time from Norway.

This in NO WAY indicates how soon (or not) a firmware release may be made available publicly.

Sorry for being late to the party!!!

I was one of the lucky ones who had the upgrade before, yes it's legit, yes Moto cares about us Smiley

Good luck to those who got in for this new testing round, and for the others I hope that the new final release will be available soooooooon!

Patrix.

Since i can't post any detail, Express I can just tell you that the new software works like everybody would expect from newer software: works better.

I have got mto the point where Motorola should ideally dissappear off this earth.I have tried to address a problem relating to time zone settings for Africa since August 2007 for a Z8 and all I get is a referral to the next and the next !!! Is there anybody out there that can convince me that Motorola has some service personel. I have yet to meet wiyh these. Where on earth can I get hold of a software upgrade.Africa does not exist according to Motorola

There's no "release date" announced, nor are there any publicly available change logs. I have no information about when any new firmwares will be made publicly available.

What I have managed to secure is the possibility for a few users to be given early access to a possible new firmware release. Currently there are no new users being given access to these firmwares, although that may change in the future.
