1  Moto Smartphones / Support / Re: Moto PCSync on: December 09, 2008, 02:49:07 am
One more add:

Just look at the PCSync version: 0.4.5 from 2007.
Nowadays when SW is constantly improved a version 1.x should be the least what we can expect. But it seems that since one year nobody has touched that code....
2  Moto Smartphones / Support / Re: Moto PCSync on: December 09, 2008, 02:47:09 am
I am sure it would, but I have not synchronized the Outlook contacts with Z8, because I don''t need all the contacts in my phone. I have plenty of contacts, which I keep in case I may need them one day (e.g. restaraunts around the world, hotels, probable business contacts, etc.). So I would really love a function where you can select all contacts or one by one to transfer to the phone. The Motorola Phone Tools (though not programmed by Motorola) have all the functions I need. Only that Motorola didn''t let those people to support the Z8 and maybe other phones, too.

If anybody ever wondered, why Motorola Mobile is doing so bad as a company. This is only one example. Add the really poor technical support for any of their phones. The poor investment in developing proper PC tools for the phones, etc...

Design is not the only factor to success. It''s just one part of it.

I have decided that after almost 16 years I will quit using Moto phones.

There is an update on Motorola''''s website for the Z8. Has anyone tried it yet?

where did you find it? I can''t see anything.

Well, it seems nobody has any idea about an improved version of PCSync....

Is there any PC-Tool out there which lets you edit the contacts?

Does anyone know if there are plans for an update of PCSync SW?

I mean, that version is quite old and I really miss some functions where one could edit individual entries in contacts or calendar....

7  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Re: 8gig microSD card in Z8 on: May 06, 2008, 04:26:45 pm
Halleluja it works !!

I was not patient enough....
It took more than 1 hour to format the card.

The phone did not accept the formatted one from my PC.

Hi there,

I have the Sandisk 8GB MicroSD, but when formatting it always stops at 99%. Of course the card is not working then. How did you guys manage that?

10  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Re: Ferrari Firmware on: April 30, 2008, 08:46:25 am
I currently have 2312C5_Z version (46.04.64G) on my phone and it's working fine...

What do you exactly mean by "risk of a DIY Flash"?

Is it possible to flash the above Firmware and replace the Ferrari one if I don't like that?
11  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Ferrari Firmware on: April 26, 2008, 09:14:40 pm
I have found the Ferrari firmware on the italian site.

There it said that the firmware is nicer and has some add-ons. According to what I read it should also be possible to replace that firmware with the previous one (if you have it on hand). Has anyone any experience with this change?

13  Moto Smartphones / Support / Outlook Calender sync on: March 25, 2008, 11:57:01 am
Hi there,

I hope one of you has a hint for me, cuz I'm really getting nuts here and Motorola just won't reply to me....

In some contacts I have the birtday included. Outlook then automatically creates an entry for the specific date (yearly repetition, duration one day). When I sync with my Z8 SOME entries start one day earlier and have a duration of two days. SOME are shifted one day ahead and SOME are ok. If I enter the birthday manually (also yearly repetition and duration one day) all is OK. Anyone has a similar experience or even found a solution for that?

Would be great to hear from you
Thanx in advance.

i was charging my motoz8 when suddenly it starts flashing up colours..i tried the "remove batery trick" but i removed it for 2 compleate days and still no change in the situation..wat else do i have to complain abt??? ohh yea...some people said that i have to update my software..well i cant because when i plug in the USB it tells me tht the device isnt recognised (tried to run moto update tool anyway but it didnt work)..now...another problem is the Z8 isnt released where i live..i bought it when i came to the UK..its a vodafone one...now..please...SOME 1 help me..coz so far..moto support site is compleately useless!

As far as I have learned, the moto update tool recognizes the phone only if you set it to "Modem" Mode. At least it worked for me....
15  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Re: calender view z8 on: February 25, 2008, 05:20:01 pm
If you have more than one appointment you are able to easily switch to the next day or even change the view of the calendar. If you only have 1 entry it is not possible....

Strange, but true
