1  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / Re: Keypad buzzing on: August 21, 2007, 06:47:36 pm
Have just checked mine and I can hear a buzzing sound from the four-way pad. It stops when the keypad backlighting goes out. Wonder if they are all like this then?

Can anyone else check theirs?

Any news when a Vista compatible version will be out?
3  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / Re: UIQ Themes on: August 02, 2007, 09:59:13 pm
After a bit of fiddling around it is the sounds in the themes. I took the sounds from the themes file and tried playing them on the phone. Got the error message that the sounds were unsupported. Why put these sounds in if they are unsupported?

4  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / UIQ Themes on: August 02, 2007, 09:35:25 pm
Anyone having trouble with the themes that are available from the UIQ website? In particular the sounds that are embeded in the theme files. They seem to crash my phone.

I set the UIQMorning as the theme and when I tried to listen to the ringtone the themes app crashed. Tried again and still the same. So i tried setting the theme and then phoning the phone. The phone showed the incoming call but no sound and the phone crashed. The only way to get it back was to remove the battery.

I've got an N95 too, but the build quality is no where near the Z8 in my opinion.

Don't think it has voice dialling (well I haven't seen it in the manual or mentioned anywhere in the phone menus.)

Same here. Have scrolled through all the terms and conditions but the softkeys still don't work.
9  Moto Smartphones / Support / Network operator logos on: July 28, 2007, 03:42:19 pm
Noticed that while roaming on Orange the network operator logo changed to the orange logo, but when on Three a green house is displayed. Are these logos downloaded from the operators automatically? Wish Three had a proper logo now  Sad

10  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / acc files on: July 27, 2007, 07:34:26 pm
Have a few Nokia .acc files (ringtones and message alerts). When played in the media player these files play fine. But when I go to change the ringtone/message alert from within the profiles, the playback of the .acc file plays back as if it has been slowed down and not playing at the normal speed. (These files are stored on a memory card. Could this have anything to do with it?)

Anyone else noticed this? I can email the .acc files if someone wants to try it for themselves.

One more quickie. Do I buy the phone on contract or on PAYT? And is the unlock procedure the same?

15  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Z8 on Vodaphone on: July 24, 2007, 07:32:31 pm
Have a few questions before I purchase one:

1. Does the handset have much branding from Vodaphone or is it a generic firmware?

2. Can it be easily unlocked?

3. Anyone tried it with a Three USIM in?

Cheers

Chris
