4  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / Re: Rebooting when adding a new contact from a recieved number on: October 30, 2007, 09:11:43 pm
Strange indeed.

I just tried it again (adding a new number to enxisting contact) and rebooted after pressing 'save'.

At least it saved  Roll Eyes

But this has always happened? Or started doing this in a later time?
Never had this kind of problem even with the defective phone.

Always happens and this is my second handset.

Did you install any program that could access to the contacts in some way?

Not really. I only have Handy Safe/Clock and Swiss Man installed.

6  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / Rebooting when adding a new contact from a recieved number on: October 18, 2007, 01:14:44 pm
Sorry to say but the phone reboots every time I want to add a new contact from either:

1. An entered number (using the number pad)
2. A number from Recent Calls

The rebooting also occurs when editing/adding a new number to an existing contact.

My Build: 2238C1_... (sorry can't see the rest)
7  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Re: S/W Versions on: October 18, 2007, 01:11:28 pm

My Z8 has build: 2267C3_I. What does everyone else have?

Mine is 2238C1_...

I can't see the rest. I got mine from Voda as soon as it came out.

Wrong forum dude. Something similar was raised in Bug Reports Forum.
9  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / Re: Pin code request! on: August 14, 2007, 02:02:48 pm
This is true, I don't think it's a bug. You could see it as a security issue or that it gives you access to other parts of the phone when the usage of 'phone' is not allowed i.e flight mode. You could only switch to flight mode when the phone is on but not when it's off.
10  Moto Smartphones / Bug Reports / Re: Not Recognising Newly Transferred MP3s on: August 14, 2007, 01:57:59 pm
I'm using vista and the only way to add track is via the mass storage option however if i put more than 15 albums across it runs super slow while playing them I dont suppose you see the same problem with yours?

I don't have that many on the phone, about 5 albums and it takes about 2 sec to list the tracks. But the general usage of the phone is OK.
11  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Re: ShoZu on: August 01, 2007, 03:01:12 pm
I think I'm the only one I know who never got it as a bookmark and, I tried to download it with no luck. Saying that, I think most people like it.

12  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Re: Navigation System on: August 01, 2007, 02:58:20 pm
Finally got some news from Motorola.

The Z8 is not listed under the smart phone version and I think it should be.

13  Moto Smartphones / Support / Re: Z8 Mobiclip movies on: August 01, 2007, 02:46:42 pm
They are many apps that you can get, look for iPod type converters ie 'anything' to mp4/M4V/3GP format. The Z8 screen is the same size as the 5th gen iPod so try these settings:

Format: MP4
Video Bitrate: 384
Audio Bitrate: 128
Res: 320x240

Finally, use the built in Media Player to view NOT Mobiclip.
14  Moto Smartphones / General Discussion / Re: Google Maps not working? on: July 30, 2007, 04:05:39 pm
It downloaded and installed OK albeit no branding on the icon. After moving the main screen from the US to UK, it zoomed in fine to my current location.

I managed to select a point on the map, in Marylebone, adding it as a favorite1 and view it in satellite view. Then I chose 'Directions' and entered a number on Oxford St but, to my surprise, it started somewhere on the A13! So I went back again I chose a point on Oxford St -> fav1...still no joy, this time it took me towards the Docklands.

There was no option on the menu for something like 'find me' so, I can't see where Vodafone come in. Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't deliver apart from zooming in to a location.
15  Moto Smartphones / Support / Re: Keypad Tones on: July 30, 2007, 04:02:20 pm
I don't think it's possible to access the keypad tones directly. It seems, so far, that the tones do change with some themes. I too have problems with Azure and Morning . That's why I'm still favoring and using Gloss.
