2312 is older than the one you are using, so the answer is no.
I liked the 2361 because was slim and fast, but the 2388 is a complete firmware, so i would suggest the last one.
This firmware made this phone a suggested phone for me now.

). The new one was just fine, but without a software update i was having major headaches in 3G mode. So you shoud insist for a new phone, and if does not come with an updated software flash the ferrari firmware, and you will be satisfied.
