Motorola ZiNE lineup leaked Print
It's been reported by various sources that Motorola is planning a ZiNE lineup of phones, along similar lines to Nokia's N series range. The first ZiNE phone is being touted as a development version of the upcoming Z10 smartphone, possibly to be called Z12.

It appears that the ZiNE range will be positioned as the jewel in Motorola's crown, with high end multimedia features being the maiin focus of the range. Cameras are set to take a massive leap in pixel count and other high-end features such as WiFi and GPS are being muted as well.

We are hearing that the first phone in the ZiNE range will be a version of the Z10 phone, but with a slightly larger, touch enabled screen complimenting the KICK slider design already seen on the Z8. The phone is also supposed to feature GPS and WiFi connectivity, and be available "by summer 2008".

Skarven A.K.A. Moto Z12Next up, we're hearing there's 2 more ZiNE phones due for release next year, probably sometime in Q3 / Q4. One of these, which we believe to be based on the Skarven handset leaked a couple of months ago, is due to have a 8MP camera, touch screen, GPS, WiFi and a host of other features. We expect this phone to be both touch and key enabled, giving users the best of both of UIQ's input methods.

Finally, one source has said that Motorola aren't planning any "iPhone-esk" phones i.e. there won't be any monoblock, purely touch screen phones (like the A1000) in the next year. That, we think, is the biggest disappointment we've heard for some time.

Motorola signed an agreement with microvision to embed a muni projector in a mobile device. Any rumors on what we could see at CES 08? Thanks
