We've just had it confirmed by one of our reliable sources (not the same one as about firmware updates) that the Z10 passed it's final shipping checks today and is now GO to ship to distributors and retailers.

In a move which has suprised many, Motorola have said they are looking to make up to 50% of their Birmingham UK based staff redundant. The Birmingham design centre is where the Moto Z8 and to a lesser extent the Moto Z10 & 12 have been developed.

Sources close to Motorola have let slip a few details about the sales pack for the upcoming Moto Z10 handset, due out in the UK on O2 sometime towards the end of March or in April.

UPDATED: We've just received word from one of our readers, who's obviously been keeping a keen eye on things, that Motorola have FINALLY released a public firmware update for the Z8. 

The annual 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona is traditionally the time when all mobile phone manufacturers release their handsets for the coming year, or at least for the coming six months. At this years’ show, Nokia have released four Symbian based handsets, SonyEriccsson have released two new Symbian phones, Samsung have announced three Symbian handsets, LG have confirmed one more Symbian phone and Motorola have... shown off the Z10 again.
